The Caged Dove by Abdul Qadeer
As she works through day and night,
She finds no one to give her love.
She lives her life in the bonds of marriage,
With no peace of heart, like a caged dove.
Her children are her will to live,
Without whom she would be dead.
Living her life in the shackles of bondage,
Not with affection, but her husband’s dread.
Is this the life she was born to have?
To be ploughed like a lowly cow,
She keeps on serving as she cries
To her honor and glory, I take a bow
The time has come to end these deeds
To let her live as she wants and needs
To pull these society’s parasitic weeds
To make a world where the world heeds.
